Dru Jayaratne
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Dru Jayaratne
Dru Jayaratne is a Chartered Accountant and seasoned professional who brings to FINCA Limited (Malawi) a wealth of knowledge having worked over 20 years gaining valuable experience in a variety of leadership roles in finance, risk management, assurance and operations in several countries and aims to steer the Malawi team in achieving its strategic objectives.
In the last 10 years, Dru has been working in the financial services sector holding the roles of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and Chief Operations Officer (COO) in Rwanda and Tanzania with the Letshego Group of Companies which is listed on the Botswana stock exchange with operations in 11 African countries.
Previously Dru has also worked in a variety of finance and related roles having worked with PwC Botswana, Parmalat Botswana and Pfizer pharmaceuticals in Perth Australia, part of the Pfizer Group listed on the New York stock exchange and having operations worldwide.
Dru joined the FINCA Family in March 2020 after his appointment by the board of directors.

Victoria Kalua
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Victoria Kalua
Victoria Kalua is a seasoned accountant and a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants with vast experience in leading financial strategies to facilitate and initiate organizational growth. She has more than 12 years of post-qualification experience under her belt in both finance and external audit. Victoria is a great team leader and player, with strong interpersonal and communication skills. She is an effective driver of steady and sustainable financial growth of the company.
Victoria joined the FINCA Malawi team of executives in 2015. Prior to joining FINCA, she worked with Kamponji Enterprise as the Finance Manager for one-and-a-half years. Victoria’s main competency is attributed to her work experience for two of the Big 4 audit firms; Ernst & Young and KPMG, where she specialized in financial services audits for over 10 years in the capacities of Audit Manager and Audit Supervisor, respectively.
Victoria’s areas of expertise include reporting financial performance, external auditing, budgeting and forecasting, cash-flow management, liquidity management and staff supervision.

Stanley Mkwamba
CHIEF COMMERCIAL OFFICER
Stanley Mkwamba
Stanley Mkwamba is a well-trained and experienced banker and marketer by profession with experience working in various industries including telecommunication and banking. He focuses on overseeing the commercial and credit aspects of the business.
Stanley holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from University of Malawi, Masters in Degree in Marketing University of South Wales. He also has a post graduate diploma in Marketing from The Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK.
Being a hardworking, committed, and honest individual with a strong sense of integrity, Stanley leads and provides insight in overseeing commercial and credit aspects of the business within the FINCA Malawi subsidiary while leading the operations department.
Stanley joined FINCA Malawi in 2018 as Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining FINCA, he was the Executive Head of Retail & SME Banking for Nedbank Malawi where he worked for close to five years. Before that, Stanley also worked as Chief Commercial Officer for Malawi Telecommunications Limited (MTL) and Head of Personal & Business Banking at NBS Bank earlier.

Joan Gausi
HEAD OF BANKING SERVICES
Joan Gausi
Joan Gausi is an intelligent, reliable and devoted team player who devotes her work to solving problems. With 15 years of experience in the microfinance and banking industry, Joan performs several roles at FINCA Malawi including ultimate monitoring of all banking operations.
Joan joined FINCA Malawi as Banking Services Manager in April 2014 and rose to her current position of Head of Banking Services in May 2016. Prior to joining FINCA, Joan worked at Opportunity International Bank of Malawi (OIBM), NBS Bank and First Merchant Bank where she held several positions including Treasury BackOffice and Settlement Manager.
Joan holds an MBA (Finance) from Don Bosco University, India and a Bachelor of Accountancy Degree from Exploits University, Malawi.

Daniel Makata
HEAD OF MOBILE AND DIGITAL BUSINESS
Daniel Makata
Daniel Makata is a well experienced commercially minded Business Manager with proven business judgement; strong strategic capability, leadership and general management experience. Driven by challenge, excellent interpersonal and communications skills provide the ability for him to operate effectively at all levels and across all disciplines.
Daniel holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from University of Malawi and a Masters in Degree in Business Administration MBA.
With over 20 years’ experience in telecoms managing commercial operations, customer services and strategy for TNM, Daniel is a highly skilled, enthusiastic and hardworking management professional with extensive expertise in digital business and innovations. He also has experience in Property management and operations having worked for Press Properties Limited as an Operations Manager.
He is currently the Head of Mobile and Digital Business for FINCA Malawi. Before Joining FINCA Malawi, Daniel was the Chief Commercial Officer for Telekom Networks Malawi Limited where he also worked as the Head of Innovations among other portfolios he held while at the Mobile Network Operator (MNO).

Charles Ngulube

Charles Ngulube
Charles Ngulube is a Human Resource Management expert with a wide range of skills and experience attained through various HR facets obtained from a number of sectors and Civil Service (Government). Passionate and driven by our mission, Charles focuses on strategic issues such as capacity development, career repositioning and staff mentoring, coaching and counseling whilst handling recruitment, placement, employee relations, remunerations, staff development and performance management.
Charles joined FINCA Malawi in July 2012 as Human Resources Manager, a position he continues to hold. Prior to joining FINCA, he worked with CBE Southern Africa, Concern Worldwide, Airtel Malawi, Alliance One, Illovo and the Government (Civil Service) in various HR aspects for a total of more than 19 years.
Charles holds a Master of Arts from University of Ghana and Bachelor of Social Science majoring in Economics from the University of Malawi.

Violet Mangani
MARKETING MANAGER
Violet Mangani
Violet is a passionate marketing professional with a drive to achieve great things. With hands on experience of 12 years in financial services, she is responsible for marketing strategy and research, brand management, corporate communications and customer relationship management to ensure the ultimate growth of the brand.
Violet joined the FINCA Malawi team as Marketing Manager in November 2016. Before moving to FINCA, she worked at FDH Financial Holdings Limited as the Marketing Manager for a period of four years.
Violet is a chartered marketer with the chartered institute of marketing (UK) besides holding a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from University of Malawi and an MBA in Strategic Management.

Hamlett Peter Kamtengeni
RISK AND COMPLIANCE MANAGER
Hamlett Peter Kamtengeni
Hamlett Peter Kamtengeni is a trained and experienced banker by profession with seventeen years’ experience working in the banking industry with a focus on Internal Controls, Risk and Compliance management. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Accounting, Audit and Information Systems from Malawi College of Accountancy. He has also attended various banking courses that enabled him to acquire other financial services-related certificates ranging from anti-money laundering, credit, marketing, business continuity and disaster recovery to risk and compliance management. Hamlett is also a certified Trainer of Trainers in Tip-Off Anonymous (a whistle-blowing tool) and Money Laundering.
Being a hardworking, committed and honest individual with a strong sense of integrity, Hamlett leads and provides insight in risk management, compliance management, internal controls management as well as business continuity management within the FINCA Malawi subsidiary while leading the internal controls, risk and compliance team in Malawi.
Hamlett joined FINCA Malawi in June 2018 as Risk and Compliance Manager. Before joining FINCA, he worked for Finance Bank Malawi, Malawi Savings Bank and Nedbank in various functions that include internal auditing, credit underwriting, credit appraisal, quality assurance, credit and risk and compliance management.

Chrissie Nyirenda
CORPORATE AUDIT MANAGER
Chrissie Nyirenda
Chrissie Nyirenda is a qualified and Chartered Accountant by profession with 13 years of audit experience. She holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from ESAMI and is a member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Institute of Certified Accountants in Malawi (ICAM) and Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
Being a hardworking, committed and honest individual with a strong sense of integrity, Chrissie provides reliable, valued and timely assurance to the board, senior management and audit committee regarding the effectiveness of governance, risk management, risk mitigation controls and control culture within the FINCA community while also leading the FINCA Malawi audit team.
Chrissie joined FINCA Malawi in April 2017 as Corporate Audit Manager. Before joining FINCA, she worked in external auditing with KPMG for a period spanning to 10 years and a further three years working in internal auditing with Banja La Mtsogolo.

Barle Makumba
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY MANAGER
Barle Makumba
Barle Makumba is an experienced ICT Professional with a background history of over fourteen 14 years in implementing various innovations to transform lives through numerous intervention programs in industries such as Telecommunication, Agriculture and Financial Services Provision. His skills are vast in Disaster Recovery, Databases Management, IT Service Management-ITIL, Virtualization, Networking, and Cyber Security.
Barle joined FINCA Malawi team in June 2016, with a career goal to ensure provision of sound IT solutions that benefits an organization to achieve sustainable business continuity, mitigate technology risks, service delivery and project management. Prior to joining FINCA, he worked with FDH Financial Holdings as IT Network Officer for four years where he was accountable for network, security and system administration, ATM, POS deployment and management.
Barle holds an MBA with a major in Cooperate Governance from the Malawi Institute of Management (MIM). His first degree is Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Business Information Technology from National College of Information Technology (NACIT).

Teresa Maru-Munlo
CHAIRPERSON
Noel Laudon Mkulichi
Noel was appointed board of director for FINCA Limited (Malawi) in November 2018 and has been operating in that role since. In working with Reserve bank of Malawi, Noel rose through several roles from being a Bank Officer to the position of Director, Pension and Insurance Supervision. He also currently serves in a number of boards of companies including FDH Financial Holdings Limited, Cooperatives Life Insurance Company Limited, Export Development Fund and Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR).
He holds a Masters’ Degree in Banking and Finance from University of Wales, Bangor-UK and Bachelor of Social Science from University of Malawi, Chancellor College.

Noel Laudon Mkulichi

Teresa Maru-Munlo
Teresa is currently the chairperson of FINCA Malawi, having served as a board member for four years. Before joining the Malawi Board she served as a Regional Training Manager for FINCA International Africa Region.
Teresa has 30 years’ experience in the financial sector, and has worked in various African countries in East, South and West Africa, with a special focus in Microfinance, SME Banking and Rural Finance. She is currently a freelance consultant having recently completed a long term assignment as a key expert for a European Investment Bank’s financial technical assistance Programme in East Africa. She also frequently consults for IFAD as a Rural Finance Specialist. Teresa has experience in training, capacity building, and project design/implementation and project management.
Teresa is a Malawian of Kenyan origin and holds an MBA with specialization in strategic management from the University of Nairobi. She speaks fluent English and Swahili and limited Chichewa.
In her free time Teresa loves to travel and explore new places, and learn about people.

Volker Renner

Volker Renner
Volker Renner has over 20 years of senior executive experience in responsible finance in the Eurasia, Africa, Latin America and Asia regions. From 2004 to 2016 he served FINCA International as Vice President for Credit and Savings, Global COO, and Regional Director for FINCA Eurasia.
Prior to joining FINCA, Volker held positions as CEO of ProCredit Bank (Ukraine) and advisor to banks in Russia and Ukraine. Since 2016, Volker has focused his work on governance and consulting roles, serving as board director and member of Audit, Risk, ALCO, Digital Financial Services, and Credit committees in financial institutions on three continents.

Gwynyth Tansa Mchiela

Gwynyth Tansa Mchiela
Gwynyth is an enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated professional with 12 years’ experience of managing and leading teams to deliver global and local marketing, communication and CSR Programs within the FMCG industry in the private sector. She is very passionate about delivering excellence in standards of execution.
Gwynyth has been a Director of FINCA Limited (Malawi) since January 2019 and currently works with The Kellogg Company East Africa Limited and holds the position of Regional Manager: Sub Equatorial Africa Region & Impulse (Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe) as well as driving the growth of the snacks category in Africa (outside RSA). She has previously served as a board member for the Malawi National Council of Sports between 2012 and 2013.
Before joining The Kellogg Company, Gwynyth worked for Carlsberg Malawi Limited (Now Castel Malawi Limited) as Marketing Director. She holds an MSc in Marketing from Edinburgh Business School and a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Public Relations & Management from the University of Lincoln- UK.

Diana Cazacu

Diana Cazacu
Mrs. Diana Cazacu is expert in strategy, business and operating models, microfinance institutions set up and transformation, as well as agriculture financing with 20 years of international experience in the financial sector (banking and microfinance) across Africa, Middle East Europe and Asia. She also brings a rich experience in digital financial services, including core banking systems, credit scoring, digital channels.
Mrs. Cazacu is a very passionate professional who has held executive positions in several microfinance banks and networks in Africa including the roles of Chief Operations Officer (COO) at Opportunity Bank Kenya, Chief Operations Officer of Banco Oportunidade Mocambique and Chief Operating Officer/Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Banco Terra Mozambique (Rabobank investment). Additionally, she supervised and guided ten microfinance institutions in Africa, as Regional IT Director for Opportunity International, and held a board member position of a microfinance institution in Afghanistan.
Mrs Cazacu holds a Master certificate as Black Belt Lean Six Sigma and is fluent in Romanian, English and Portuguese. She was appointed board of director for FINCA Limited (Malawi) in January 2020 and has been operating in that role since.

Zangaphee Chimombo

Zangaphee Chimombo
Mr Zangaphee Chimombo is an experienced and highly motivated professional who has worked for twenty years in Information and Communication Technology for global and local corporations. He is currently the Chief Technical Officer for the Malawi Research and Education Network (MAREN) which provides enhanced connectivity and delivers advanced educational services to the research and higher education sector in the country.
Zangaphee began his career in software, web and database development. He has since done network and systems administration before rising through the ranks into management then executive management. He has overseen Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementations along the way and is passionate about mentoring the next generation of IT professionals and making the technology mediated experience satisfy the customer. Zanga is a certified Cyber Resilience practitioner.
Zangaphee was appointed board of director for FINCA Limited (Malawi) in January 2020 and has been operating in that role since.
